About KCES
While developing my riding skills, particularly in dressage, I noticed how many riders struggled with the mental side of the sport. This inspired me to pursue a college degree in psychology, with a focus on sport psychology. Throughout my studies, I remained active in the horse industry, riding and teaching, and I discovered that helping others unlock their potential brought me the greatest joy. Out of that passion, KCES was created.

A bit more about me
I began riding horses at my grandparents’ farm as early as I can remember but my real journey started at the age of 8 years old with my first pony Darkstar. During my early riding years I did not have well trained horses so I learned to be resilient and goal oriented to achieve success. Along with the tricky horses, my mother Robbin influenced my riding career in more ways than one. She instilled a “mental toughness” that paved the way for my future. Before entering the show ring my mother would say to me “whether you think you can, or you can’t, you’re right.”
During high school and college, I took my unconventional dressage horse, a saddlebred arabian, all over the country showing in the open division in Arabian Sport Horse competitions. He was not necessarily an easy horse but through our connection and relationship, we were very competitive and received many achievements together. My riding journey really took off when I was a working student for Amy Larson while I was in college. Amy paved the way for my understanding of classical dressage and she also connected me with Felicitas von Neumann-Cosel. In 2019 I moved to Maryland to become Felicitas von Neumann-Cosel’s working student where I honed my skills and understanding of horse and rider biomechanics while developed my mare Veau.
Felicitas von Neumann-Cosel
Kerstyn is blessed with an amazing feel in the saddle and has a great ability to adjust to different horses needs while helping them shine.
I was equally impressed with her teaching. Her ability to read her students and help them learn first within their comfort zone and then gently pushing them out of their comfort zone, was a joy to watch. Anyone who will get a chance to ride with Kerstyn is indeed fortunate.
Expertise and History
I have worked with many accomplished trainers but Amy Larson had the biggest impact on my early career. Amy taught me the fundamental basics that shaped me as a rider and trainer and ultimately led me to becoming Felicitas von Neumann-Cosel’s assistant trainer. Working for Felicitas, I honed my feel and understanding of biomechanics of horse and rider as well as bringing my personal horse, Veau up the levels.

Certificates
I am a member of the International Coaching Federation and I am working towards my ACC coaching certification. I am a certified hypnotherapist, NLP and Time line therapy practitioner.

County saddles allow the horses to lift in their back and swing like I have never felt before. Not only do the horses feel comfortable but you can get a saddle that works for your body. My favorite saddle is the Inspiration. I feel like a million bucks when I sit in it and my leg drapes right next to the horse, exactly where it needs to be.
